In a few short months, Ioan Gruffudd (right) has experienced both ends of a Hollywood spectrum. He starred in the critically acclaimed yet little-seen independent film “Amazing Grace,” and he stars as Mr. Fantastic in the blockbuster sequel “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” That one happened to clear more than $50 million at the box office its opening weekend. It also has a rabid fan base that sometimes can be hard to please, as Gruffudd found out. “To be fair, most of them are very excited to see the comic book come to life,” the actor told Armour & Co. when we chatted with him a few days ago. “But after the first movie some of them were quite vitriolic and so passionate about the characters. It’s very hard to sift through all the things you read on the Internet. Once I started, I had to stop very quickly because I realized there were a lot of angry people out there.”
