1. ‘Everybody Hates Chris’

7 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9

A guy’s never too young to brag about his love life, but he may be too young to realize lying about it is a bad idea. Chris (Tyler James Williams, above left) misleads everyone into thinking he and Tasha (Paige Hurd) are an item, causing her grandmother (Whoopi Goldberg) to get on his mom’s (Tichina Arnold) case. Julius (Terry Crews, above right) worries about the fate of his beloved trading stamps when the redemption center closes.

2. ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’

7:30 p.m., WBBM-Ch. 2

Liquor loosens lips, but Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) needs no such help. She attends a wedding and stays away from the free-flowing booze, as she’s the designated driver. But her sobriety doesn’t keep her from spilling a very big secret — very similar to one that Louis-Dreyfus’ Elaine spilled on a wedding-themed episode of “Seinfeld.” Wanda Sykes and Clark Gregg also star.

3. ‘Girlfriends’

8 p.m., WGN-Ch. 9

Beware of wolves in music moguls’ clothing! Lynn (Persia White) is about to perform at a club’s open-mic night when she’s approached by a recording executive who wants to work with her — if she’ll sleep with him. She says no but changes her mind after missing her chance to go onstage. Then he ignores her the next day. Tracee Ellis Ross also stars.

4. ‘CSI: Miami’

9 p.m., WBBM-Ch. 2

She’s a crime-scene investigator, but she’s also a suspect. Natalia’s (Eva La Rue) ex-husband, Nick Townsend (Rob Estes), is found dead after she encounters him at a crime scene and her DNA is found in his bed. She’s arrested for his murder, while Caine (David Caruso) puts the day shift to work on clearing her name.

5. ‘Simon Schama’s Power of Art’

9 p.m., WTTW-Ch. 11

Watching paint dry may be dull, but the same can’t be said for watching painters create. In this new series, writer and scholar Simon Schama tells the tales of eight great works of art, focusing on what drove each artist to create the piece and how it changed the world’s view of art. The first segment features Vincent van Gogh and his “Wheatfield With Crows.”

6. ‘Heartland’

9 p.m., TNT

Treat Williams plays a brilliant surgeon in this new drama. But don’t get your hopes up that the new TNT drama is the second coming of the late, lamented “Everwood.” This by-the-numbers medical drama, in which Williams plays Nathaniel Grant, a workaholic transplant surgeon, doesn’t give Williams much material to work with, and if the creators want us to be affected by the doctor’s troubled relationship with his ex-wife, they shouldn’t make his ex seem so cold and vindictive. Morena Baccarin (“Firefly”) is wasted as a nurse who dates Grant, and the rest of the show feels like a less-inspired copy of “House” and “ER.”
