Rick Schroder says he decided to take a break from acting when he left “NYPD Blue” in 2001. He moved back to Arizona to spend time with his four kids. “Then I got the itch to come back,” Schroder, 37, told us from L.A. a few days ago. “Then this opportunity came along” — a role as CTU hothead Mike Doyle on Fox’s “24,” another very adult role for a guy who found fame as the lovable Ricky Stratton on NBC’s “Silver Spoons.”
