Four men and a juvenile appeared in a Cook County courtroom last week, accused of kidnapping an 18-year-old Burbank youth at gunpoint, police said.
Charged with aggravated kidnapping are Omar Berrones, 17, Jesus Garcia, 23, Nicholas Damian-Roman, 29, Librado Santana, 37, and a 14-year-old.
The victim was approached Feb. 19 in the 7700 block of LeClaire Avenue, thrown into a van and bound with duct tape, Burbank police Capt. Joe Ford said. The victim’s brothers witnessed the abduction, phoned police and followed the van until it arrived at a Chicago home.
Police then stormed the residence and arrested the men.
The 14-year-old was transferred to juvenile detention authorities, and the others are being held on bail ranging from $200,000 to $300,000, police said.
