Those wacky kids at the Annoyance Theatre are rolling out the red carpet for 91-year-old Eugene Polley–the college dropout from Lombard who co-invented the first wireless TV remote control–for the opening of their new musical revue, “The Invention Show,” which kicks off its run Feb. 24. Polley’s fellow inventor of remote controls at Zenith, Robert Adler, died Thursday, and the theater has invited Adler’s widow, Ingrid Adler, to a March performance.
