Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Of the scores of books that come to the Guy Page, only a few really hit the mark with good advice. “How to Behave: Dating and Sex” (Quirk Books, $14.95) is one such book.

On Page 190, under the heading “If You Call Out the Wrong Name,” meaning in a moment of passion, author Caroline Tiger shows that she thinks eerily like a guy. Her advice:

– Do not try to explain or apologize. The best route here is to deny and obscure the truth.

– Immediately try to cover up your mistake by calling out your partner’s real name, then call out a word that is similar to the name you just uttered. If you just said, “Eunice,” you might say, “You . . . nice . . . yeah.”

The author recommends calling her “sweetie” or “baby” thereafter. That seems like sound advice. After all, trying the old coughing-fit routine could ruin the moment. But the Guy Page might suggest just dating women with the same name, for example only Nancys.
