DuPage High School District 88 will seek voter approval in April to undertake the most significant series of upgrades to its two campuses in more than 30 years.

This week, the board unanimously approved a $104.7 million binding referendum proposal to modernize Willowbrook High School in Villa Park and Addison Trail High School in Addison.

If approved, property owners would see a rate hike of 10 cents per $100 of assessed valuation on the spring 2008 tax bill. Owners of a house with the market value of $250,000, for example, would pay an additional $139.37 in additional taxes in 2008, district officials said. Subsequent bills would fluctuate depending on changes to the home’s assessed value, district officials said.

This rate hike would allow nearly every area of both high schools to be improved.
