Von Steuben–Mike Dinunno scored 14 in first quarter. Lake View–Adriano Silva scored 12.

“[Dinunno is] a reliable scorer,” said teammate Warren Poetzing. “He’s a very consistent scorer.”

Thornwood (14-2) went on 15-4 run in fourth to tie it 57-57 and later won as Cameron Snelling hit layup at buzzer.

Thornwood–Trey Blue had 30 points. New Trier–Peter Boehm had 25 points, 6 rebounds.

“I was just trying to get down the court. We always play hard when we’re on the ropes,” Snelling said.

West Suburban Silver

Midway through third, Red Devils (12-5, 4-2) cut 12-point deficit with 7-0 run. Proviso (14-3, 5-1) had 13-4 run to put it away.

Proviso West–Justin Hightower had 15 points. Hinsdale Central–Blake Saunders scored 21.

“Every good team makes a run. After we stopped their run we made one of our own,” Hightower said.

Lockport 58 WEST AURORA 50

Lockport (10-5) went on 11-2 run from end of third to beginning of fourth to build lead it never relinquished.

Lockport–Doug Sexauer had 20 points, 8 rebounds. West Aurora–Reggie Shipp had 16 points.

“We haven’t really been beating too many good teams this year so far,” Sexauer said.

St. Patrick 64 GUERIN 52

St. Patrick (14-3) led by as many as 23 in first half, but Guerin (12-7) pulled within 8. St. Patrick countered with 6 of next 8 points.

St. Patrick–Edmond O’Calleghan scored 15. Guerin–Jordan Johnson, DeJuan Jackson each had 18.

“The lesson we learned tonight was not to take the big lead for granted,” O’Calleghan said.

Suburban Catholic

Trailing 32-20 early in third, Driscoll (16-5, 10-1) went on 20-0 run, lead by Dave Schwabe’s 10 points. St. Francis is 16-3, 8-1.

Driscoll–Schwabe scored 25 and Jake Lindfors added 18. St. Francis–Reagan O’Toole had 28.

“We came out focused, knowing what we wanted to do,” Schwabe said.

Peoria Richwoods 66 SCHAUMBURG 50

Schaumburg (14-5) led 43-42 after three, but James Robertson scored 11 in fourth as Peoria Richwoods (15-3) outscored Saxons 24-7.

Peoria Richwoods–Bill Cole scored 21 . Schaumburg–Grant Monroe had 12 points.

“Once we stepped it up and started getting back on top, that kind of got me going,” Robertson said.
