Metal Slug Anthology
WII (SONY PS2, PSP VERSIONS TO BE RELEASED IN FEBRUARY)
From: SNK
Price: $39.99
Arcade action games aren’t very common anymore–most of the time they only show up in retro gaming compilations. But the Metal Slug series keeps pumping out new quarter-munchers (the most recent one came out last year), and now every game in the decade-old series is included on one disc. The Metal Slug Anthology gathers together Metal Slug 1 through 6 as well as the Metal Slug 2 upgrade Metal Slug X. Series newcomers who’ve played Contra, Alien Hominid or action games like them should know what to expect–tons of enemies, lots of weapon upgrades, one-hit kills and over-the-top destruction. Anthology is by far the best version released on home consoles so far. The Wii version has several different ways to control the game using the Wii remote and/or the nunchuk attachment–players also can plug in a GameCube controller, if desired.
