Backup center Marcus Arnold is the latest victim of the injury hex that has besieged Illinois. Arnold suffered a broken nose in the first half of Wednesday night’s victory over Iowa and had surgery Friday.
“[He’s] doubtful Sunday [at Michigan State] because of the pain,” coach Bruce Weber said.
Starting point guard Chester Frazier may be able to return after missing the Iowa game and Thursday’s practice because of a groin strain. He returned to practice Friday, but his activity was limited.
According to Weber, if Frazier is going to play against the Spartans “he has to practice a little bit” Saturday.
