If another season of mall crawling seems about as exciting as receiving a holiday fruitcake, take a step beyond the generic. The sixth One of a Kind Show and Sale features jewelry, wearable art, photography, ceramics and paintings from more than 400 fine-arts and crafts vendors.

The show runs Thursday through Dec. 10 on the eighth floor of the Merchandise Mart.

New this year is the Fashion District, a section that includes artists as well as fashion, jewelry and accessories designers.

Learn the trends with Fashion District shows at 8 p.m. Thursday; 7 p.m. Friday; 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Dec. 10. One of a Kind fashion shows hit the runway at 7:30 p.m. Thursday; and 1 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Dec. 10.

Stop by the Fashion District from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday for free cocktails and free beauty services.

The hours: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 10.

Tickets cost $10; $7 for seniors and students. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets for Thursday’s event cost $50 to $75, and benefit the Children’s Memorial Foundation.
