DePaul and Northwestern meet for the fourth straight year Tuesday night in Evanston, and the neighborhood rivals have something in common–they’re recovering from season-opening wakeup calls in the form of losses. The Blue Demons were pounded at Bradley 78-58 Saturday. “We let them set the tempo and that can’t be tolerated,” DePaul coach Jerry Wainwright said. The Wildcats lost to the Ivy League’s Cornell at home 64-61. “Nothing pleased me, except the freshmen were fine,” Northwestern coach Bill Carmody said. The Blue Demons have won two of the three meetings since the series was revived in 2003-04, with DePaul winning last year at the Allstate Arena 59-49.
