Michigan and Ohio State are atop the polls and tied for the nation’s lead with the fewest turnovers lost, six each. One reason for Michigan is Mike Hart’s extraordinary streak of no fumbles lost in his past 639 touches. But Michigan coach Lloyd Carr said quarterback Chad Henne deserves credit, too, despite five interceptions. Carr said Henne’s interception total is a bit misleading. “A couple of his interceptions have been as a result of throwaways late in the game,” Carr said. “So thus far, we’ve done a great job with the football, as good as any team I’ve been around.” Michigan nearly lost a fumble last week when Henne was hit from behind, but offensive lineman Rueben Riley covered it.
