Behnaz Sarafpour’s designs have graced such celebrities as Claire Danes, Selma Blair and Chloe Sevigny. Yet, you needn’t be a celebrity (or have their wallet) to afford an item or two from Behnaz Sarafpour’s limited-edition line at Target.

Target continues its Go International concept of famous designers creating clothes and accessories for a 60-day period at its stores and Web site.

A plum taffeta dress with lace waist ($44.99) or black velvet mini-dress ($39.99) would be perfect for a New Year’s Eve party.

Even if you are the only celeb in the room.

Hats off to the silver screen

Put on your thinking cap. Who designed Phyllis Diller’s movie headwear? Can you name three famous milliners rarely credited in films?

If you know the answers, then secure a free ticket to “Lights! Camera! Hats!: The Way Your Wear Your Hat: Millinery in the Movies.”

This Chapeau: The Milliners Guild event will show fall hat collections inspired by the silver screen.

Emulate Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe and buy or try on more than 200 hats.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Chicago Athletic Association, 12 S. Michigan Ave.
