As temps cool, Chicagoans may be already wearing their heavy sweaters–but spring is only a catwalk away.
London-based designer Alice Temperley will present a fashion show of her spring 2007 collection Thursday at Neiman Marcus, 737 N. Michigan Ave.
Temperley London has earned celebrity status since its launch in fall 2000, counting among its fans Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sienna Miller.
The two-hour Neiman Marcus and In Style magazine event begins at 5:30 p.m. with martinis, models, music and, according to the press release, “madness.”
If you miss the Temperley London show, stop by the store from 10 a.m. to noon Friday for a spring trunk show. For reservations or more information, call 312-694-4072.
Stroll in style
Fashionista mommies need an equally hip stroller to push their designer-label-wearing tot. Illinois native Cynthia Rowley lends her baby style to Graco Children’s Products. The children’s company unveiled its Cynthia Rowley Mosaic stroller this month–with a black background dotted with a fabric of colorful fruits. If you’re in your first trimester, act quickly: Only 1,000 strollers are for sale in this limited edition.

Fashion show for a cause
Pampering isn’t the only way to show your support for breast cancer awareness. Illinois breast cancer survivors work the catwalk at Saturday’s Y-Me Illinois 26th Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave.
The annual fundraiser donates to local Y-ME Illinois programs, including free mammography screenings and educational workshops.
CBS news anchor Mary Ann Childers emcees the event, with fashions donated by 900 North Michigan shops. Tickets start at $85 at y-me.org/illinois.
