Trustees last week unanimously approved the appointment of Jay Heiferman to a seat on the Village Board.

Heiferman replaces Carol Gelman, who resigned in September and moved to Clarendon Hills.

Heiferman has been involved in Homewood politics since 1984 and has spent the last six years on the Economic Development Commission, most recently as its chairman, he said.

Heiferman’s term expires in April.
