The Wildcats are looking to their receiver corps for big plays. Junior Kim Thompson will make his second start Saturday after recovering from a broken foot suffered in August. “He’s a playmaker,” coach Pat Fitzgerald said. Thompson caught two passes for 15 yards last week at Penn State and made an attention-grabbing catch in practice this week. . . . The Wildcats (2-3 overall) may need to pull off a big upset Saturday to have a realistic shot at the 6-6 record required for bowl eligibility. They still have to play Ohio State, Michigan and Iowa.
