It has been more than three years since Maurice Morris opened a game as the Seahawks’ starting running back. But with Shaun Alexander out of Sunday night’s Bears game, Morris will step in. “It’s a big game,” Morris said, “so the main thing is just to go out there and work hard. I’m not the biggest back, so I can’t be in the backfield messing around. I try to hit the hole faster.” Morris is in his fifth pro season and set career highs with 71 carries and 288 yards in 2005. “He’s ready,” QB Matt Hasselbeck said. “He’s played in bigger games than this and played well.” The loss of Alexander also meant Seattle needed a backup to Morris, so it cut special-teams captain Isaiah Kacyvenski to add Marquis Weeks off the practice squad.
