Summer dreams

Today, as the season of no-fault white shoes fades toward fall (with astronomical autumn arriving Sept. 23), we look back over a summer of air, land and water. There were kites soaring and circling against a cornflower blue sky, lazy hours spent lying on the sand of a city-front beach or beneath the shade of a tree in a park, and exhilarating dashes through the spray of an open hydrant when the temperature was well above 90. We say not goodbye to summer but hasta la vista. See you later.
