Four teens were arrested this week for allegedly damaging a Bartlett golf course and two carts in a round of “demolition derby,” police said.

The teens arrested Tuesday rented the golf carts from the Bartlett Hills Golf Club about 6 p.m. Monday, after most of the grounds crew had gone home, said Bartlett Police Sgt. Michael McGuigan.

The teens allegedly drove the carts onto the course, and over three hours rammed them repeatedly into each other, damaging the front and rear ends of the carts, while digging huge gashes into the course, he said.

One cart’s axle was broken and was left on the course. The golf course’s grounds crew noticed the damage, estimated to be about $1,000, in the morning, McGuigan said.

Alex Delmuro, 18, Joseph Wilkin, 17, and Timothy Rakstang, 17, all of Bartlett, and James Dowd, 17, of Wayne, were each charged with felony criminal damage to property, and released from custody after posting $5,000 bail. They’re expected in Cook County Circuit Court Aug. 30.
