Past returns to haunt kids’ show host

The PBS Kids Sprout channel has said goodbye to the host of “The Good Night Show,” Melanie Martinez, because of two questionable videos, both titled “Technical Virgin,” she appeared in seven years ago.

The digital cable TV channel for preschoolers said on its Web site that Martinez told her bosses last week that the videos had become available on the Internet, and that they found it made her unsuitable for a bedtime show for preschoolers. The videos are 30-second skits about sexual acts and sex toys.

A spokeswoman said a new host for the show is expected to be named by late this year.
