After a six-month hiatus, construction has resumed on a financially troubled residential development.
In February, construction of Traditions, a 107-home subdivision on Vollmer Road, was halted, along with the operation of the development’s clubhouse amenities and the operation of two ponds, causing residents to fear health hazards.
Downers Grove-based Burnside Development Corp. resumed work this month after securing a financing deal.
At the time construction ceased, 23 homes were occupied and eight more were being built.
Subdivision resident Eloise Houston said electricians and plumbers have been on duty, but other workers have yet to show up.
In May, Houston and other residents urged village officials to mediate between residents and the developer.
“We have to protect our assets,” Village President Linzey Jones said.
Representatives of the developer could not be reached for comment.
