After spending one year apart, former Illinois- Chicago teammates Cedrick Banks and Justin Bowen were reunited this week as both were invited to the Bulls summer league team, which opened Monday in Orlando with a 93-88 victory over Indiana as Tyrus Thomas missed 6 of 9 shots and had six turnovers. The Bulls project the 6-foot-7-inch Bowen as a shooting guard who also could play small forward. “It’s been an out-of-body experience,” Bowen said. “It’s something you dream about all your life. Just to get an opportunity to get your foot in the door is very special, especially with my hometown team.” Said the 6-3 Banks, who scored 17: “It’s been a great experience so far. The [coaches] know the game.”
