Denis Savard held a family reunion in the Arlington Park winner’s circle Tuesday after Drivingmaxandmitzi, a thoroughbred who is owned by the Blackhawks assistant coach and Hall of Fame center and was carrying his hockey team’s colors, decisively won the 1 1/16-mile ninth race as the 3-2 favorite. It was the second victory in two starts for the 4-year-old gelding since Savard took the advice of trainer Tom Proctor and bought him in Florida. “My wife, Mona, and I were on vacation, and Tom called about this horse,” Savard said. “I’d always wanted to have a horse with Tom [as trainer]. I said, `If you think this is the right thing to do, let’s do it,’ and here we are in the winner’s circle.” In addition to Mona, Savard’s entourage included daughter Tanya and his brothers Gilles, Andre and Luc, who came from Montreal on vacation.
