As the star of Spike TV’s film-adapted vampire drama “Blade: The Series,” Kirk “Sticky” Jones is determined not to fill actor Wesley Snipes’ shoes.

“I’m bringing my look and my voice to the role,” said the rapper-turned-actor plugging Wednesday night’s debut of “Blade.” “I’m not rocking a fade like Wesley Snipes because I’m not Wesley Snipes. I’m more street, and that comes across too.”

It also doesn’t hurt that the Brooklyn, N.Y., native, who came to fame in the 1990s rap group Onyx, is nine years younger than Snipes.

“I’ve seen all three movies, and I grew up reading the comic book, so getting the role was a dream come true,” said Jones of his role as a Dracula-slayer who is part human and part vampire.

He got the job just as his gig on FX’s war drama “Over There” ended when the series was canceled last year. “It was a blessing. One door literally opened as the other closed.”

Jones still is interested in the rap game. He and his cousin Fredro Starr (also from Onyx) are working on a yet-to-be-released album as well as a couple of movies from Jones’ production company.
