I think it’s insane that the city just labels a porch unsafe and does not enforce any action to fix such a dangerous situation (“Is your porch safe?” June 20 cover story). Are porches not a required emergency exit in a building? How is it OK to basically cut off one exit in case of an emergency? Why are people not being fined for such a hazard?
