Two adults and an 8-year-old child were treated and released from Edward Hospital in Naperville on Monday night after the van they were traveling in on Interstate Highway 88 rolled off the tollway and into the embankment, authorities said.

The injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.

The van was traveling east on I-88 near Naperville Road about 8:35 p.m. when it was cut off by another motorist driving a Honda Civic, according to Illinois State Police Sgt. Jim Jenkner. The van’s driver, Judy DeHaan, swerved to avoid hitting the car, and the van rolled into the ditch on the south side of I-88.

The eastbound lane of I-88 was blocked for more than an hour. No tickets were issued, Jenkner said.
