Harvey-born entertainer Tom Dreesen hit the Chicago radio shows this week promoting his new one-man show, “Shining Shoes and Sinatra: From Harvey to Hollywood.”
Appropriately, Dreesen will give a hometown performance at his alma mater, Thornton Township High School, on Saturday.
The performance will benefit the Thornton Alumni Legacy Fund, which provides private money to restore educational programs that have been cut because of financial difficulties in the school district.
Other celebrity alumni are scheduled to join Dreesen at the benefit. His show chronicles his life, from growing up “on the streets” of Harvey to reaching the pinnacle of the entertainment world.
