Fighting to be the main event

Saturday’s main boxing event at Madison Square Garden–champion Miguel Cotto defending his junior welterweight title against Paulie Malignaggi–is competing for attention with more than Notre Dame football player/boxer attraction Tommy Zbikowski on the undercard. The New York City card is up against another title fight one state away in New Jersey. Saturday night in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver will defend his title against former middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins. Not the smartest scheduling for boxing as the conflicting title fights go head-to-head on two fronts. Fans of live entertainment must choose which venue to attend as well as fans at home. Both boxing cards are on pay-per-view.
