Who’s in it: Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles, Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick (right), Mia Farrow
What it’s about: A remake of the 1976 classic in which parents (Schreiber, Stiles) suspect their son is the devil’s spawn and his nutty new nanny (Farrow) was sent by Satan himself to protect the kid.
Worth watching? (star)(star)
“When Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, as Damien, is supposed to be looking demonic, he comes off more like a miffed kid turning up his nose at liver and onions. Director John Moore is forced to cut away from Damien when he should be making him the center of the evil, which makes it difficult to cook up thrills. Ultimately, this ‘Omen’ falls apart because the kid is so bad it’s scary.”
