In a normal job interview, the employer isn’t puffing on a Marlboro, the application doesn’t request bust size, and the hopefuls don’t respond with “Jell-O wrestling” when asked about hobbies.

But this isn’t a normal job interview, and the position being applied for–Nightclub Goddess–isn’t listed at any employment office.

We’re at Alumni Club in Schaumburg for the first night of the $50,000 Nightclub Goddess Search, either a promotion by local event-planning company Mixmaster Throwdown or a scam enabling two young businessmen to meet dozens of women turned on by the prospect of earning salary and prizes totaling $50,000 to be the, eh, face of their company for one year.

“We’re looking for somebody outgoing, with business smarts,” said Mixmaster Throwdown owner Dan Morrell, who included a space for women to list their shoe size on the application. “We want a beer-drinking girl who knows how to run a company.”

His partner, Erik White, detailed some of the perks of becoming the Nightclub Goddess, employee benefits common to most of us in the business world like a year of free tanning and unlimited VIP access to the bar.

Among hopeful mortals who turned out to be interviewed and photographed on the first night of auditions was Kathryn Foley, 21, of Arlington Heights, who is looking to supplement her income as an exotic dancer at The Admiral? “I think I have that little oomph they need,” she said.

Also applying was Deanne DiSalvo, 21, of Rosemont, who in addition to her Jell-O wrestling acumen mentioned that she likes to party, “and also I have professionalism.”

And Marisa Alfaro, 26, of West Chicago, whose curriculum vitae includes “partying and general girl stuff.”

We’ll have to wait until the winner is selected in early summer. Auditions continue at Alumni Club on Thursday and June 8. For more information visit mixmasterthrowdown .com.
