Former Chicago Bears great Dan Hampton is helping a youth football league recover from an arson fire that destroyed an announcer’s tower and a storage room filled with team equipment.
The NFL Hall-of-Famer will sign autographs and hit the links at a golf outing and fundraiser scheduled for May 27 at Deer Creek Golf Club in University Park.
“We lost everything,” Nick Genardo, rebuilding chairman for the Wildcat football club, said of the November blaze.
Organizers hope to raise $15,000 to replace the facilities. The $75 ticket price covers the golf, a cart and a buffet dinner afterward. For tickets, call Genardo at 708-426-6787.
