Chicken salad wrap

ARBY’S $4.69

750 calories; 45 g fat; 1,200 mg sodium

Arby’s, long the bastion of roast beef, now wants to be known as much for its phosphate-and-filler-free chicken called “Arby’s Chicken Naturals.” Introduced in February, Chicken Naturals are found in its line of sandwiches, wraps, salads and strips.

First thought: The chicken salad wrap comes with chicken chunks, apples, red grapes, celery, pecans, lettuce and mayonnaise in a tortilla wrap.

On second thought: The sweetness of the apples and grapes comes through, but you can barely taste the chicken, no thanks to the mayonnaise bath. And look at those calories!

Ham & salami P’Eatzza sandwich

7-ELEVEN $3.69

360 calories; 17 g fat; 1,110 mg sodium

You like sandwiches, but bread just doesn’t do it for you anymore.

Why not substitute it with pizza? The folks at 7-Eleven have answered your prayers.

First thought: Found in the refrigerated section, the P’Eatzza is an isosceles triangle-shaped sandwich with a two-cheese tomato sauce pizza serving as the bread. Inside? Ham, salami, lettuce, red and hot banana peppers.

On second thought: The wrapper reads “Don’t Heat, Just Eat!” We follow the directions, tear open the plastic wrap and bite in. Imagine eating two slices of three-day-old pizza with cold cuts inside. It tastes exactly like it sounds: Cold, messy and weird. What a P’Eatzza trash.

Roasted turkey & basil pesto Frescata

WENDY’S $3.49

420 calories; 16 g fat; 1,530 mg sodium

Wendy’s goes high end with a new line of cold deli-style sandwiches called the Frescata.

First thought: The roasted turkey & basil pesto Frescata comes with lettuce and slices of turkey breast with roasted red peppers. It’s topped with pesto mayo and served on ciabatta-like bread.

On second thought: Nice. Pretty impressive from a place that brought us 99-cent chili. An unexpectedly sophisticated taste, accented with the sweet red peppers and altogether soft and chewy bread. Watch out for the high sodium.
