Danica Patrick granted more than 700 interviews, including 60 during a 48-hour stretch in New York before the Indianapolis 500 last year. She graced the cover of magazines, including Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine and TV Guide. She signed endorsements with Hostess to promote Twinkies, as well as Proctor & Gamble, which will launch an April campaign for Secret deodorant featuring Patrick. Her autobiography, co-written with Laura Morton, who authored the tales of Melissa Etheridge and Jerry Springer, will hit stores in May and chronicles her life from age 10 through the Rolex 24 endurance race at Daytona in January. Patrick, who has posed for Maxim and FHM magazines, remains wary of her image and does not want to lose her mass appeal. “I’m not money hungry and doing every endorsement I can do,” said Patrick, 23. “I just do what makes sense, and I do what hopefully will be fun.”
