A 22nd-place finish may not be everyone’s Olympic dream, and it wasn’t Maggie Crowley’s. But the 19-year-old speedskater will return to Northwestern with her Olympic moment etched in her brain–the Opening Ceremony. “Chris Witty carried the flag, and we all kind of elbowed our way up to the front row, and I got to walk in right next to her,” she said. “It was amazing.” As for her performance in Sunday’s 3,000 meters–she also will compete in team pursuit Wednesday–Crowley’s time of 4 minutes 17.37 seconds was “a little disappointing, but I’m just really glad I got to do it. It was amazing.”
