Dax Riggs’ vocals have a gospel tinge and some heavy-metal boom, along with poignant flecks of Lou Reed and soaring Jeff Buckley soul. Riggs, on vocals and guitars, and Tessie Brunet on drums and backing vocals, surround Riggs’ voice with a stirring mix of passionate White Stripes-ish blues-rock (“Blood Music”).
