A 42-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a man who approached her from behind as she tried to enter her New City home on Dec. 7, police said.
The woman told police she noticed a van with tinted windows as she was walking to her home on the 1600 block of West Garfield Boulevard. When she got to her door, a man put a gun to her head and ordered her to open the door, police spokeswoman Robin Mohr said.
Inside, the man sexually assaulted her, then fled in a white van, Mohr said. The woman was treated at a local hospital, where she was released in good condition.
