Gang of Four

“Return the Gift”

RATING 3 VOLUME LEVELS

The recently reunited Gang of Four has rerecorded its best-known songs, such as “I Love a Man in Uniform,” “We Live as We Dream, Alone” and “What We All Want.” The songs sound slightly tougher, though no less urgent than they did before. On the neo-spoken-word “Anthrax,” Andy Gill adds some subtle additional lyrics about the nature of this disc. But newcomers should really start with the group’s first three essential albums.
