East Aurora tournament
Will Walker had game-high 31 pts to lead No. 13 Bolingbrook to 85-76 win over East Aurora in title game. Charles Smothers added 23 pts and 7 asts for Raiders (12-0). “Our kids maintained their poise in a tough situation,” Bolingbrook coach Calvin Saunders said. “It was a very hostile crowd, but I love this environment.” Marshall Straughter had 21 pts for East Aurora (9-5).
Kankakee tournament
Cody Yelder had 33 pts, 8 rebs and 8 asts as Richards (8-4) defeated Carver 85-76 for class AA tournament title. . . . Illiana Christian (10-4) topped Hope 68-49 for Class A tournament title as Derek Postma had 15 pts and 9 rebs.
Lemont tournament
In large school championship game Mike Capocci (33 pts, 8 rebs) led Glenbard East over Reavis 74-61. Brandon Streets added 12 pts and Jarvis Griffin 11 for Rams (10-1). “In third quarter I think we came out really strong and we were able to put it to them and build a lead,” Capocci said of Rams outscoring Reavis 19-9 in 3rd. Julian Ibarra and Marek Kowalewski had 22 and 20 pts, respectively, for Reavis (10-2).
Lincoln-Way East tournament
Demond Watts and Lawrence Redmond had 13 pts apiece as T.F. North (11-3) defeated Lincoln-Way East 57-47 in championship game. Brandon Williams added 12 pts for Meteors, while Matt Crisman had 21 for Lincoln-Way East (5-6). “My team gutted out a good win,” T.F. North coach Tim Bankston said. “We expected to win this tournament.”

Trailing 43-37 heading into 4th qtr, Stagg (10-4) outscored Zion-Benton 18-9 for 55-52 win in championship game, which featured same teams from last year’s title game with Stagg again winning. Arthur Kuprion (12 pts) had 3-pointer with 55 seconds left in game to give Chargers lead for good at 53-50. Jeff Miller led Stagg with 20 pts–including 10 in 4th–and Colin Ruben added 10 pts and 7 rebs. Tim Baines had 17 pts and 11 rebs for Zion-Benton (10-3).

In semifinals, Libertyville (7-3) edged Naperville Central 55-54 as Matt Hogan (10 pts) hit FT with 2 seconds left in game. . . . No. 15 Loyola (12-1) defeated Lake Park 69-58 as Matt Steger and Peter Sullivan had 14 pts apiece. Jeff Jordan added 13 for Ramblers, while Mike Dinunno and Willie Clark had 12 apiece for Lake Park (7-5). . . . In consolation games, Tracy Thomas had 19 pts as North Chicago (7-5) dropped Carmel 71-64. . . . St. Viator (6-5) beat Notre Dame 54-49 behind Jack Fleming’s 20 pts.
York tournament
York (12-0) rode Austin Hood’s 20 pts to top Downers South 54-50 in semifinals. Sean Fendley added 11 pts for York, which made the most of 25-6 free-throw advantage and outrebounded the Mustangs 26-18.

Bloomington tournament
Precious Gaddis had 20 pts and 7 rebs as No. 4 Hope (16-0) stopped Olney 56-47 in semifinals. Latear Eason added 16 pts and 7 rebs. Hope will face Rock Island Alleman in Friday’s championship game–the same school it played in Class A state championship last year and lost by 3.
Hillcrest tournament
In semifinals, No. 11 Marian Catholic (13-2) drilled No. 18 Thornwood 73-60 as Katy Clark scored 20–including 16 in 4th qtr and 11 of 12 FTs. “Free throws win games,” Clark said. “We knew we had to take it to them in the fourth quarter and that’s what we did.” Sarah Pillon and Suzanne Grossnickle added 15 and 14 pts, respectively, for Spartans. Brittani Nichols led Thornwood (11-2) with 24 pts and Veronica Hicks added 12. . . . Sandburg (11-4) barely hung on to 51-40 4th-qtr lead as Eagles won 58-57 over No. 13 Marist (14-2). Jacqie Storm had 18 pts and Christine Walczak 13 for Sandburg.
Lincoln-Way East tournament
Tournament MVP Samantha Quigley (18 pts) led Joliet Catholic (11-4) to 64-33 victory over Lincoln-Way East for tournament title. Quigley finished tournament with 81 pts. “Getting first place in a tournament is always nice,” Quigley said. “It was exciting to help the team win a championship.” Alex Barone added 10 pts for Angels, who built 25-13 halftime lead. Brittany McElmury and Kersten Magrum had 8 pts apiece for Lincoln-Way East (6-8). . . . Cate Gula (17 pts) led Nazareth (6-10) to 42-39 victory over Lincoln-Way Central for 3rd place.
Morton College tournament
Proviso West (11-1) beat Riverside-Brookfield in championship game 58-54 behind Lauren Robertson’s 19 pts. Tomesha Members added 13 pts. Maggie and Katelyn McCloskey had 21 and 18 pts respectively for Riverside-Brookfield (12-3). . . . Diana Jacklin and Kimberly Thompson scored 14 apiece to lead Morton (8-7) over Hinsdale South 58-49 for 3rd place. Mustangs jumped to 27-6 1st qtr lead, while Dominique Finney led Hinsdale South (8-7) with 9 pts.
St. Ignatius tournament
Anne Sobczak had 17 pts and 9 rebs and Katie O’Donoghue had 14 pts as St. Ignatius (12-6) defeated Lane 41-32 for tournament title. Sobczak scored go-ahead basket with 5:48 remaining in game and Wolfpack outscored Lane 11-4 in 4th qtr. Danielle Tucker led Indians (12-4) with 10 pts.
