Jeff Jordan scored seven of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter and Loyola (8-1) closed the non-conference game on an 8-0 run for a 58-45 victory over New Trier at the Gentile Center. Trailing 16-14 early in the second quarter, Loyola’s Joseph Suhey (19 points) scored 11 straight in a decisive 18-5 run that gave the Ramblers a 32-21 halftime lead. Peter Boehm had 13 points for the Trevians (3-6).

Von Steuben 90, Lake View 36: Lewis Wilson scored 18 points to lead host and 12th-ranked Von Steuben (4-2, 2-0) in Public Red North action. Kendall Russell added 17 points and 10 rebounds. and Jeremie Simmons had 15 points for the Panthers.

Washington 64, Vocational 42: Mario Little had 14 points and Keyon Smothers added 12 for 16th-ranked Washington (9-1, 2-0) in Public Red East action at Vocational.

“We wanted to get a big lead so we could get bench players some experience,” Little said of the Minutemen’s 11-point first-quarter lead. Fontaine Jackson led Vocational (6-7, 0-2) with 16 points.

Marist 69, St. Viator 43: Jeremy Nash had 15 points to lead host Marist (7-2, 2-1) over St. Viator 69-43 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. Chris Quinn added 11 points for the RedHawks.

Leading 37-32 with 3:50 left in the third quarter, Marist went on a 20-5 run to take a 57-37 lead with 6:14 remaining in the game. Jared Funk led St. Viator (4-4, 1-2) with 11 points.

Luther South tournament: Daniel Sair’s 14 points and eight rebounds led Morgan Park (8-5) to a championship victory over Seton 56-52. Dominique Walker added 10 points.

Lougwin Spann had 18 points and six rebounds for Seton (9-5).

Waubonsie Valley tournament: Blake Saunders scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half and Drew Wills added 11 points as Hinsdale Central (8-4) defeated Aurora Central Catholic 58-40. . . . Greg Jordan scored 17 as Naperville North (7-4) topped Glenbard South 58-38.

Girls

Oak Lawn tournament: MVP Renet Skorusa led Lemont with 14 points and nine rebounds in a 38-30 championship game victory over Evergreen Park. “I gave it a shot and I was lucky it went in,” Skorusa said on her buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the third quarter. Lemont strengthened its 25-23 lead in the fourth quarter with an 8-2 run for a 33-25 cushion with 1:28 to play. Lisa Nassin had 19 points for Evergreen Park (11-4).

Wheaton North tournament: In the quarterfinals, Danielle Bemoras (13 points) hit a free throw with two seconds remaining in overtime to lift Glenbrook South to a 55-54 victory over Chatham Glenwood. Katie Klemke added 13 points and Alexandra Nabolotny had 12 for the Titans (11-4). . . . Kylie Castans and Drewann Pancratz had 14 points apiece as Schaumburg defeated West Aurora 50-39. Gabby Blackwell added 10 for the Saxons (13-2). . . . Kortnee Hines had 15 points–13 in the first half–to lead Waubonsie Valley (11-2) to a 59-41 win over Hersey (7-6). . . . Katie Klimczak scored 15 as Elk Grove (5-7) beat top seed Hinsdale Central 37-34.
