Ronald Steward had 18 points–11 in 4th qtr–to lead Zion-Benton (5-2, 2-1). Tim Baines added 14 pts and 6 rebs. Kyle Engstrom had 15 points and 20 rebounds for Libertyville (3-2, 1-1). “Coach told us to keep our heads up and never get too excited,” Steward said.

St. Charles East (6-2, 3-0) used 18-0 run late in 3rd through 4th to take 46-31 lead with 3:42 left in game. Mike Bertrand had 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead Fighting Saints. Ryan McPherson had 16 points and 15 rebounds for St. Charles North (1-7, 1-2).

Drew Jackson had 22 points to lead Schaumburg (6-1) over Bloomington 71-54. Bobby Rhodes added 13 points. Justin Bocot had 23 points for Bloomington (6-1). . . . Michael Thompson had 29 points as Lincoln Park beat Burlington Central 71-63.

No. 10 St. Joseph (6-1) defeated Milwaukee Vincent 58-48 as Jonathan Peoples scored 17 points and Evan Turner had 16.

Lisle tournament

Nick Michael had 17 pts to lead St. Joseph-Ogden past Leo 57-54. Mitch Blair added 19 points. Antonio Topps had 22 points for Leo (4-3). . . . Chad Woldman had 16 points as Timothy Christian (8-0) beat Prosser 71-50. Wilfredo Escobar had 10 points for Prosser.

Kelsey Whalan (13 pts) had game-winning FTs with 15 seconds left in game for Benet (8-2, 2-0). Kaitlin McInerny added 13 points and 12 rebounds, pushing her past 1,000 rebounds for career.

Bishop McNamara (8-1, 1-1) outscored Joliet Catholic (6-2, 1-1) 8-4 in OT to seal win. Angels scored 11 unanswered points at end of regulation to force OT. Claire Schmidt and Jennifer Juergens had 22 and 20 points, respectively, for Fightin’ Irish.
