When Rosevelt Colvin broke and dislocated his left hip two years ago, his career was nearly derailed. The remnants of the former Bears’ grisly injury include a metal plate and four screws. “The plate looks like a piece of metal you’d buy at Ace Hardware or Home Depot,” the New England linebacker said. “I was wondering if it would make the alarms go off when I went through [airport] security.” Colvin was an explosive, aggressive, intimidating player, but the injury meant he came back gingerly. “I look at the film from last year and cringe,” he said. “I want to be a dominant player again.” Now that he leads the team in sacks and is fourth in tackles, Colvin recognizes how far he has come. “I feel so much better,” he said.
