Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Defensive end Alex Brown has become the third Bear in five weeks (joining Charles Tillman and Nathan Vasher) to be named NFC defensive player of the week, after his two sacks, four pass deflections and a forced intentional grounding in the Tampa Bay win. “There’s a lot of good players out there in the NFC who play hard and play well,” said Brown, who won the award last season with four sacks against the Giants. “So for me to get that means a lot.” Coincidence? Brown wore a microphone for the game and mused afterward, “I really don’t think the mike has anything to do with how well you play. But all year it’s been proven that whoever wears it has a big day. So I asked to wear it; I needed a big day.”
