Quarterback A.J. Feeley, traded to the Chargers last week, will be remembered in Miami as the biggest personnel mistake of the Dave Wannstedt-Rick Spielman era from 2000-04. The Dolphins thought Feeley showed so much potential in limited playing time with the Eagles that owner H. Wayne Huizenga said he was counting on him being “another Dan Marino.” But Feeley went 3-5 as a starter in 2004, with six of his interceptions returned for TDs. Keep an eye on Cleo Lemon, whom Miami acquired for Feeley. Lemon has never thrown a pass in a regular-season game, but coach Nick Saban liked what he saw on film from exhibitions. The all-time leading passer at Arkansas State went undrafted due to a torn knee ligament.
