Bjork
“Drawing Restraint 9”
Bjork once swore she would never act again, nor work with boyfriend Matthew Barney. Well, she broke both by appearing in his recent experimental film and creating its soundtrack. Incorporating plenty of the film’s Japanese themes as well as contributions from Will Oldham and harpist Zeena Parkins, the disc may further turn off fans of Bjork’s early pop confections.
Best track: “Gratitude,” which features Oldham, sounds, oddly enough, like Oldham singing a Bjork song.
