TEAM, SYNOPSIS

At Palatine

Fremd’s Jenna Langhorst d. Jessica Linden of Barrington 6-0, 6-3 to win title. Barrington duo Whitney Martin and Kelsey Linden claimed doubles title. Barrington edged out Fremd for team title 26-23.

At Maine South

Maine East jr. Gabriela Bobrowski defeated Taft’s Paulina Bigos 6-3, 7-5 to claim singles title, and Maine South’s Courtney Hoglund and Teresa Loera beat Brittany Kline and Amanda Saeger of Maine West 6-3, 6-4 in doubles. Hawks claimed sectional team title.

At Warren

Lake Forest, 2nd in IHSA state tourney in 2004, claimed sectional team title with 34 pts. In singles, Marisa Lambropoulos of Lake Forest d. Warren’s Karina Kocemba 7-6 (2), 6-4. Lake Forest’s Samantha Inaker and Kathleen Salterelli claimed doubles title.

At St. Ignatius

Parker fr. Elizabeth Epstein d. Alexis Kraft of Latin 6-0, 6-0 to win singles title, and Jessica McCarthy and Caroline Patek of St. Ignatius won doubles. Parker narrowly defeated St. Ignatius for team title 19-16.

1 Joliet Catholic 48 St. Patrick 45

East Suburban Catholic At Hanson

St. Patrick (6-2, 6-2) scored with 3:09 remaining in game to bring Shamrocks within 3 points, but Joliet Catholic (8-0, 8-0) was able to run out the clock for win. Joe Benson had 29 carries for 337 yards and 5 TDs for Hilltoppers. Bill McKeon added 16 carries for 143 yards and TD. Hilltoppers overcame 18 pt. deficit midway through 3rd qtr.

19 Stagg 31 OAK LAWN 7

Non-conference

Joe Plewa carried 10 times for 195 yards and had 2 TD runs of 68 and 77 yards to lead Stagg (7-1). Pat Poskus was 3 of 8 for 104 yards with TD pass of 74 yards to Jeff Miller in 1st qtr. Chargers scored on first 5 drives and had 395 total offensive yards. Kendall Johnson had 16 carries for 55 yards and TD for Oak Lawn (5-3).

Lemont 49 WESTMONT 14

Suburban Prairie East

Dan DeBoeuf was 9 of 13 for 161 yards and threw for career-high 4 TDs to lead Lemont (7-1, 4-0). Aaron Nagel finished with 18 carries for 64 yards. Lemont’s defense held Westmont to 6 1st downs and 150 total yards and clinched share of conference title. Andrew Jay caught 26- and 57-yard TD passes and added 13-yard TD run in 4th qtr. Josh Vervack intercepted DeBoeuf’s 1st pass for 19-yard score for Westmont (4-4, 2-2).

Hinsdale Central 35 GLENBARD WEST 7

West Suburban Silver

Brett Morse’s 106 rushing yards and 3 TDs and 6-of-11 passing for 45 yards helped Hinsdale Central (5-3, 2-3) jump to 28-7 halftime lead. Paul Mancini added 108 rushing yards on 11 carries and 2 TDs of 49 and 2 yards. Steven Tompkins led Glenbard West (3-5, 1-4) with 185 yards passing and TD.
