Bunny Williams, a New York-based, world-recognized interior designer and garden expert, has been creating high style interiors for upscale clients for nearly 30 years, her work featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House & Garden, The New York Times, Town & Country and Veranda.

For 28 of those years, she has been quietly carrying on a love affair with a once-abandoned 18th Century manor house in northwest Connecticut.

Her new book, “An Affair with a House,” with Christine Pittel (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 240 pages, $55), is an intimate tell-all.

More than 225 photographs of the white 1840 clapboard house, along with its gardens, conservatory, converted barn, porches, guest and pool house and other satellite structures, give a rare inside look at a top decorator’s private retreat.

Williams also offers advice on practical matters such as living with dogs (a short hose by the door), setting a table, flower arranging and entertaining and provides several prized recipes from her husband, antiques dealer John Rosselli.
