Few things are more maddening for motorists than to be stuck on an expressway in a bumper-to-bumper crawl.
Unless it’s this: being stuck in that crawl and having some mope illegally whiz by everyone on the highway shoulder.
That’s the situation I found myself in recently, but then something really wonderful happened.
It turned out that the vehicle in front of me was an unmarked deputy sheriff’s car and, quick as a wink, he turned on his internal flasher and gave chase to the cheater.
A few minutes later it was pure heaven to inch by the mope and see his silly expression, as driver after driver couldn’t resist toots on their horns and a thumbs-up to the police officer.
