Winnebago guard Devan Bawinkel is headed to West Virginia thanks to some advice he received a couple of states away. “On my visit to Michigan State, I talked to one of the recruits that committed there,” Bawinkel said after orally committing Monday. “He told me you just have a gut feeling when it’s right for you. (West Virginia) just had everything I was looking for.” The 6-foot-5-inch guard chose the Mountaineers over Georgetown and DePaul, largely due to wanting an overall college experience. “The main thing with DePaul, it just really didn’t have a college campus feel,” Bawinkel said. In other recruiting news, Leo guard Kijuane Leach orally committed to play at Eastern Illinois.
