The Village Board this week formally approved plans for Chase Plaza, formerly known as Southmoor Commons, an 8-acre retail development site at 131st Street and La Grange Road.

Village officials said they envision the office-retail complex as a gateway to the village, complete with a village green and pedestrian walkways that will provide access to the new 445-home Southmoor development.
“The easier you make the walkways, the better it will be for pedestrian traffic,” Mayor Dan McLaughlin told representatives from developer V-Land Corp.
